"This piece is one of favorite drawings. It is of a classic photograph of these 2 legendary basketball players, in a typical pose. They are battling for position to get a rebound, and the intensity on their faces says it all. There is no ball show, and while they are obviously exerting a lot of force, there is no real movement displayed. The action is centralized. The faces are what makes this image work for me. It could just be a shot of the 2 heads together, and this piece would be successful in my eyes. But I decided to show they're torsos to show the physical action going on."
